Digital Strategy

Clarity beforechannels.

Research-led digital strategy that connects your business objectives to the audiences, messages and channels most likely to support them.

Overview

A good strategy is a set of choices. It explains who you are trying to reach, what you want them to understand and where your time and budget are best spent, so every piece of activity has a reason to exist.

01

Audience research

Understanding the people you want to reach, and the decisions they are trying to make.

Strategy starts with the audience. We look beyond basic demographics to understand what prompts people to start looking, the questions they need answered, the doubts that slow them down and who else influences their decision.

Depending on the engagement, this can draw on conversations with your team, existing customer data, search behaviour, reviews, sales enquiries and published research. The aim is a shared, evidence-based picture of your audience that everyone can use.

Typical outputs

  • Audience segments and priorities
  • Decision journeys and key questions
  • Barriers and motivations
  • Insight summaries for creative teams
02

Competitive landscape

We review how competitors and alternatives present themselves: the messages they lead with, the channels they appear to prioritise and the experience they offer online. This is not about copying anyone. It is about understanding where the audience already has options, and where there may be space for a clearer or more distinctive position.

We look at search visibility, advertising presence where it is publicly visible, website experience, content and tone of voice, then summarise the opportunities and risks this reveals.

03

Channel planning

With objectives and audiences agreed, we recommend the channels that make sense, and explain why. Each channel is given a role: capturing existing demand, introducing new ideas, nurturing relationships or confirming decisions.

We take your budget, internal resources and timescales into account. A focused plan that can be delivered well is usually more effective than a broad plan that spreads effort too thinly.

Role 01

Capture

Meeting people who are already searching for what you offer.

Role 02

Introduce

Reaching relevant people who may not yet be looking.

Role 03

Nurture

Staying useful to people who need more time to decide.

04

Campaign architecture

Campaign architecture describes how individual pieces of activity fit together. It sets out which audiences see which messages, in which order, and where each step leads.

A clear architecture makes campaigns easier to brief, build, manage and measure. It also helps avoid common problems, such as different channels competing for the same people with inconsistent messages.

05

Messaging

We help you define what you want to be known for and how to say it. That includes a core proposition, supporting messages for different audiences and proof points that can be verified.

Clear messages are specific, believable and easy to repeat.

Messaging frameworks give creative teams, salespeople and anyone writing on your behalf a shared reference, so communication stays consistent across channels.

06

Measurement planning

Before activity begins, we agree how progress will be judged. That means choosing a small set of outcome measures, leading indicators and diagnostic metrics, identifying where the data will come from and being clear about its limits.

Measurement plans are designed to work with consent requirements, so optional tracking only runs when visitors have agreed. Reported figures are therefore treated as useful estimates rather than complete records.

Strategy work is designed to support better decisions. It does not guarantee particular commercial results, which depend on many factors beyond marketing.

How an engagement runs

From first conversation to ongoing improvement.

Every project is scoped individually. This is the typical shape of the work.

  1. Step 1: Discover

Workshops, research and a review of what already exists.

  2. Step 2: Define

Objectives, audiences, positioning and a channel plan.

  3. Step 3: Roadmap

    Priorities, phases, owners and dependencies.

  4. Step 4: Review

Regular check-ins to adjust the plan as you learn.
